This book contains a collection of stories about a few of the many animals that have been a part of my dad's life and my own life. They have given me some of the best memories I have had with him and a closeness to him that I may have otherwise lost much sooner.  He had a respect for animals that he did not have for people.  So for me, being close to animals was the same as being close to him.
